Efficiency down to the smallest detail.
The optimised steering is a regulated hydraulic steering system that consumes less energy. In specific, this means that an additional valve in the oil circuit switches off the power steering pump when it is not required – for example when driving in a straight line for extended periods. Consequently, it does not consume any energy that would normally be drawn from the engine. Compared with previous unregulated systems, fuel consumption can be improved by around 0.1 l/100 km, cutting CO2 emissions by 2-3 g/km.
