An innovative lightweight construction technology that produces lower consumption, superior agility and therefore greater efficiency.

The weight of the Audi A6 saloon has been reduced in numerous areas courtesy of its hybrid aluminium construction. Aluminium is principally used for the body, where it serves as a material in the body structure and for all add-on parts. The body features technologies that make it possible to have different wall thicknesses and material properties in a single component. The material is used exactly where it is required – without increasing weight in other areas. This results in sporty agility that can be clearly felt and comparably low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
