After a successful 2008 and a further volume increase of 21.2% to 7,731 units in the Middle East, Audi is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2009. The company was founded by automobile engineer August Horch in Zwickau on July 16, 1909; and named Audi after the Latin translation of his surname ("hark!"). Along with the celebrations comes a multitude of activities & launches for the Middle East.
The new Audi Q5 was launched in the first half of the year and is one of Audi's major new volume sellers. The Audi R8 V10 is one of the highlights in 2009 as well as a few other surprises.
The German premium manufacturer is also focusing on its network infrastructure throughout the region with the implementation of initiatives like the Audi Management Academy or the new 90 minutes service offering at all Audi workshops. There is a lot to achieve in the challenging year of 2009, but Audi keeps pushing forward true to its claim: Vorsprung durch Technik.
Audi Middle East is a subsidiary of AUDI AG.
