Four Audi premieres at Qatar Motor Show

Doha, January 17, 2012 – Four regional premieres, the new Audi Q3, and the legendary Le Mans race car - the Audi R18 TDI: the Audi stand at next week’s Qatar Motor Show will be packed with more highlights than ever before. The Qatar Motor Show is being held at the Doha Exhibition Centre in West Bay from 25-28 January 2012.

Taking center stage is an exciting race car showcasing technologies to be seen in the next generation of Audi products. The Audi R18 TDI, a closed coupe that has been specifically developed for the Le Mans 24 Hours, clinched the 2011 Le Mans victory for the brand with the four rings at one of the most thrilling and dramatic 24-hour races in Le Mans history. Since its debut in 1999, Audi has won the world’s most important endurance race ten times and its successes have repeatedly been accompanied by technical innovations.

Jeff Mannering, Managing Director of Audi Middle East, sheds light on Audi’s highlights at the show: “The Audi R18 TDI sets the tone for what’s to come at Qatar Motor Show. The competence in ultra lightweight design, engine technology and connectivity solutions that comes from motorsport translates directly into our production vehicles, including every model that you will see on the stand at the Qatar Motor Show. We have four exciting regional premieres in store for our visitors.”

Sharing the limelight, but no less important, is the much awaited Audi Q3, which made its regional debut at Dubai Motor Show in November. The Audi Q3 is the brand’s smallest SUV yet and will be available in Audi showrooms across the Middle East from the second quarter of 2012.
