Energy recuperation now standard for Audi in Middle East
Dubai - Audi Middle East reports that all 39 of its available model and engine variants now feature energy recuperation as a standard in the Middle East. The Audi energy recovery system, which uses kinetic energy during deceleration, increases efficiency, particularly in urban traffic and saves fuel – up to three percent, depending on the driving cycle.

New Audi R8 Spyder V10 unleashed in the Middle East
Dubai – A highly appealing open top high-performance sports car, first seen at Frankfurt Motor Show last September, is the latest addition to Audi’s regional line-up and will be available in showrooms across the Middle East and Levant this month. The Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro combines breathtaking performance with the experience of open-top driving. The 525 hp V10 engine accelerates the high-performance sports car with the lightweight cloth top to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 313 km/h. The 5.2-liter engine produces 530 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm and 525 hp at 8,000 rpm. Each hp only needs to move 3.3 kilograms of weight. The engine offers amazing thrust and hangs tenaciously on the throttle in every situation accompanied by that unmistakable ten-cylinder Audi sound.

Audi Middle East sales grow 8.5% in first half
Dubai - With a total of 3,146 vehicles delivered to the GCC and Levant over the first half of 2010, Audi Middle East reports a healthy 8.5 percent growth in sales. The UAE remains the biggest market in the region for the brand with the four rings. Audi registered a 16.4 percent sales increase to 1,181 units in the Emirates. Further core markets are Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, both with over 500 units in sales in the first half of 2010 and 21.2 percent and 0.4 percent growth respectively.

Audi Group: record first-half operating profit of over EUR 1.3 billion
Ingolstadt/Dubai – The Audi Group increased its revenue by 21 percent in the first six months of the current fiscal year to EUR 17.6 (2009: 14.5) billion. Meanwhile the 61.6 percent rise in operating profit easily outstripped revenue growth, setting a new Company record for the first half-year of more than EUR 1.3 billion (EUR 823 million).

Iron Man 2 drives an Audi R8 Spyder
Ingolstadt - Robert Downey Jr. has returned to his role as the ingenious engineer and superhero Iron Man. The world premiere of Iron Man 2 took place on Monday in Los Angeles. Along with Robert Downey Jr., several other big names accompanied director Jon Favreau down the red carpet, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke, Don Cheadle, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson – and right in the centre of things, the Audi R8 Spyder. Robert Downey Jr. arrived for the premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in the supercar. It was a scene straight out of the Marvel Studios movie, in which main character Tony Stark drives the open-top two-seater.
