    Sales growth of 6.4 percent in May

    AUDI AG enjoyed continued sales growth in May by handing over some 137,200 cars to customers, representing an increase of 6.4 percent compared with the prior-year month. The new A3 family and Audi SUV models in particular strengthened business for the four rings. From January through May, Audi sold around 640,200 cars for a year-on-year boost of 6.7 percent.

    Further sales growth strengthens global premium market position in the second quarter

    Audi has started the second quarter with further sales growth. In April, the Ingolstadt-based company sold around 133,500 cars, representing an increase of 6.6 percent compared with the prior-year month. In particular demand for the new A3 family and the Q3, Q5 and Q7 SUV models strengthened business for the four rings. Since the beginning of this year, around 503,000 customers in total have decided in favor of an Audi – a growth of 6.7 percent. This is the first time that Audi exceeded the threshold of half a million deliveries after just four months.

The version of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro that was victorious at the season opener is to extend Championship leader Audi’s points advantage. At the same time, a new long-tail variant of the hybrid sports car will be tested in Belgium.     Best-ever opening quarter for Audi with around 369,500 deliveries

    AUDI AG has enjoyed the strongest first quarter in its history: With worldwide deliveries reaching around 369,500 units for January through March, the company improved on the prior-year quarter by 6.8 percent. In this period, the automotive manufacturer achieved growth in all of its three main sales regions Europe, Asia and North America. Unit sales in March played a major role in this respect. Audi handed over around 147,700 cars to customers – 3.0 percent more than one year earlier. This made the past month the strongest March ever for the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer.

    One-two finish for the Audi R8 LMS ultra at Nogaro

    Successful season start for the Audi R8 LMS ultra and the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT: the Audi drivers claimed a one-two finish on the opening race weekend of the FIA GT Series at Nogaro (France). Edward Sandström and Frank Stippler won the race on Easter Monday from their team mates Laurens Vanthoor and Stéphane Ortelli. Although Nikolaus Mayr-Melnhof/René Rast crossed the finish line first in the team’s third Audi, they subsequently received a 30-second penalty because the engine was not completely switched off during the pit stop. The duo did however, finish second in the previous day’s qualifying race.

    Audi Group surpassed its targets for the year 2012. Despite the significant effects of the debt crisis in some countries and a contracting overall market in Europe, the company posted record figures for production, shipments, revenue and earnings. In the past financial year, the brand with the four rings sold more than 1.45 million automobiles (2012: 1,455,123; 2011: 1,302,659), representing a growth of 11.7 percent or approximately 152,500 additional customers, and increased its revenue by 10.6 percent to €48.8 billion (2012: €48,771 million; 2011: €44,096 million).

    First RS model in the Q series: Audi RS Q3

    Audi is presenting the RS Q3 at the Geneva International Motor Show, the first RS model for the successful Q line-up. It combines outstanding everyday practicality with dynamic driving performance: It takes just 5.5 seconds to complete the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. The 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo produces 310 hp and has an average fuel consumption of just 8.8 liters of fuel per 100 km. A Middle East launch is not confirmed at present.

The long-wheelbase high-security version of the A8 meets the strictest guidelines in force for civilian vehicles, with a host of special security features available in addition to its heavy armoring. The vehicle was on display at the recent International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Audi offers the A8 L Security with a 500 hp W12 engine and a 420 hp 4.0 TFSI.     At the Daytona 24 Hours, the Audi R8 GRAND-AM has made its best showing to date: Filipe Albuquerque/Oliver Jarvis/Edoardo Mortara/Dion von Moltke won the GT category in a dramatic finale. The runners-up trailing the winners by 1.4 seconds were Ian Baas/Marc Basseng/René Rast/Frank Stippler. Despite 65 percent of each lap having been driven at full throttle the R8 GRAND-AM that is powered by a production-derived 5.2-liter V10 FSI engine was running flawlessly on the notorious oval track for a whole day and night.     Capacity and Quality: Audi grows 16.4% in Middle East

    Since the establishment of its Middle East subsidiary, German premium car manufacturer Audi has grown steadily in the Middle East. With a sales increase of 16.4 percent to 9,155 vehicles delivered to customers the company reports another record year for 2012. Following the appointment of new Managing Director Trevor Hill, Audi now plans to concentrate on increasing capacities and quality for sales and after sales service in the region to support its growth on route to its Middle East sales target of 20,000 units annually by 2020.

    Audi: around 1,455,100 deliveries in 2012

    A new record-breaking year for AUDI AG: In 2012 the company sold around 1,455,100 premium automobiles worldwide, 11.7 percent more than in the previous year. The Ingolstadt-based carmaker thus clearly surpassed its annual target announced in summer of 1.4 million cars – above all thanks to strong growth rates in North America and Asia. With deliveries exceeding the previous year's figure by more than 152,000, this was Audi's second-highest jump in sales in the history of the company. Only one year previously, in 2011, Audi had attracted around 210,000 additional customers. With around 110,400 deliveries (+0.8%) in December 2012, Audi reached again the strong sales total of the excellent final month of 2011.

    Audi keeps its foot on the gas pedal: €13 billion in capital expenditures through 2016

    Despite challenging economic circumstances, Audi is maintaining its ambitious capital-expenditure program. The Audi Group plans on investing €13 billion through 2016 to continue resolutely maintaining its course for growth as per its Strategy 2020. Expenditures will primarily address the development of new products and technologies as well as the construction of new plants. Nearly €8 billion will be invested in the German sites of Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm.
