An activated and verified myAudi account is required, with which you make yourself the vehicle’s key user. Full functionality is guaranteed in combination with compatible Apple, Samsung and Google{ft_google-and-android-are-trademarks-of-google-llc} devices with ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. Unlock, start and lock your Audi with your mobile device, even if it’s in your pocket. Simply get in and drive off! On devices from these manufacturers that do not have ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, certain functions are not fully available. To unlock, start and lock your Audi, the compatible device must be placed against the NFC sensor of the driver’s door handle or the NFC sensor in the phone compartment.For recently released devices, functionality cannot be guaranteed due to dependence on the respective manufacturer. The digital key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability} is recognised by the vehicle via ultra-wideband (UWB) technology and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology or via NFC technology and stored on the compatible device’s{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} Secure Element. This means that a connection can be made between the vehicle and your iPhone{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality}, Apple Watch{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} or Android device{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality}. Thanks to the secure connection, unauthorized persons are prevented from intercepting the radio signal of the digital key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability}.

To set up the digital master key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability}, the key user must be inside the vehicle with their iPhone{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} or Android device{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality}. The device{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} can be set up as a digital key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability} in three different ways: by e-mail, on the MMI or in the myAudi app{ft_myaudi-app}. Once set up successfully, you can unlock, start and lock your vehicle conveniently via your iPhone{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality}, Apple Watch{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} or Android device{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality}.Regardless of how you set it up, the key user has to be specified in the vehicle via the MMI.Ways to set up the digital key:1) Setup in the myAudi app{ft_myaudi-app}:Make sure you are in the vehicle.Select the digital key in the myAudi app{ft_myaudi-app} under “All functions”.After selecting “Start setup” in the myAudi app{ft_myaudi-app}, you will be forwarded to your wallet app.Follow the instructions until completion.2) Setup by e-mail:The key user is sent an e-mail with an activation password.Clicking on the link will redirect you to your wallet app.Follow the instructions in your wallet app and complete the process.3) Setup on the MMI:Please ensure that NFC is activated on your mobile device.The key user will then be sent the activation password by e-mail.Select the digital car key via the MMI in the vehicle and follow the instructions.Enter the activation password provided in the e-mail on your smartphone when asked to do so.

In total, you can assign up to four additional digital car keys{ft_ads-digital-key-availability} with the master key. Keys must be assigned to a compatible mobile device{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality}. The digital car key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability} can be sent to compatible devices{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} in your wallet app using the “share” symbol, which makes sharing the key simple and convenient. The respective key can, in turn, be transferred to at least one additional personal device{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality}, such as an Apple Watch or smartwatch, with just a few clicks.{ft_ads-digital-key-functionality-availability-share}

The digital master key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability} can be disconnected in the myAudi app{ft_myaudi-app} or via the MMI menu in the vehicle. In this case, all other mobile devices{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} that are connected to this digital key will be unpaired.

The user of the digital master key can remove access to a shared key at any time in the Wallet app or via the MMI. To do this, select the corresponding key and start the process to remove access.

The digital master key can be changed in the MMI menu in just a few steps. All digital keys{ft_ads-digital-key-availability} already assigned remain active despite the change.

If the iPhone{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} or Android device{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} has to be charged, the digital key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability} can still be used for a certain period, depending on the smartphone.If the ultra-wideband (UWB) function or the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) function of the device{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} is not available, the vehicle can still be locked and unlocked via the NFC sensors in the driver door handle.The vehicle can be started at any time as soon as the iPhone{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} or Android device{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} is placed in the phone compartment, where there is also an NFC sensor.

No internet connection is required to unlock, start and lock the vehicle as the information is exchanged exclusively via the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection.

The digital master key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability} can be disconnected in your myAudi app{ft_myaudi-app} or via the MMI menu. In this case, all other mobile devices{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality} that are connected to this digital car key will be unpaired.

This will disconnect the digital keys{ft_ads-digital-key-availability} from all paired devices{ft_ads-digital-key-full-functionality}.

The Digital Key Service Card is also known as the digital key card. It can be handed out as a replacement for a digital key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability}. It is particularly useful in the event of a service or for valet parking. The deactivated key card can be found in the glove compartment. To activate it, the card simply has to be placed in the designated area. Provided the ignition was started beforehand with a digital key{ft_ads-digital-key-availability}. The card is deactivated automatically as soon as the vehicle is restarted with a physical or digital key.

The initial setup is only possible in supported countries.
